Description
The SureFire DS00 dual tailcap is the rear cap for a Scout Light that lets you run both a pushbutton and a remote tape switch at the same time. It has a momentary/constant-on click switch at the rear plus a port for a SureFire remote switch, and the two operate independently. That's the whole point: you keep the pushbutton as a backup and add a pressure pad where your support hand sits, so you have two ways to run the light and redundancy if one ever gives you trouble.
This is the cap for people who want options. The integrated pushbutton means the light still works on its own if you don't have a switch plugged in, and the housing is a two-piece, O-ring-sealed design that swivels, so you can rotate the pushbutton to the exact position you want it. There's also a system-disable feature to lock the light out for storage or transport.
It accepts SureFire's tape switches, including the ST07, SR07, and SR07-D-IT, which plug straight into the remote port (switch sold separately). It's machined from aerospace aluminum, Mil-Spec Type III hard anodized, and threads directly onto the Scout Light body in place of your existing tailcap. See the important Dual Fuel note below before ordering, and browse the full remote switches selection for switch options.
DS00 vs UE: Which Cap Do You Want?
The difference between this and the UE tailcap is simple. The DS00 keeps the pushbutton and adds a remote port, so you get both and the redundancy that comes with it. The UE cap removes the pushbutton entirely and is remote-only, which makes for a cleaner, more committed tape-switch setup with nothing redundant on the back. If you want a backup pushbutton or you're not 100% on going switch-only, get the DS00. If you want the simplest dedicated remote setup, the UE is the one.
Important: Dual Fuel Light Compatibility
This cap works on a SureFire Dual Fuel light (like the M600DF or M640DF) only when that light is running CR123 primary batteries. It will not deliver the high-output rechargeable (18650) mode, which requires SureFire's separate UEE cap. On standard Scout Lights it works normally. If you run a Dual Fuel light on its rechargeable battery and want full output, you need the UEE.
Add a Switch
The DS00 needs a tape switch to use the remote port (the pushbutton works on its own). The SureFire ST07 flat pad plugs right in, and the Magpul M-LOK tape switch mount holds it cleanly on your rail. For a remote-only cap instead, see the UE tailcap, or for a simple pushbutton-only replacement, the Z68 tailcap.
Key Features
- Pushbutton and remote. Rear momentary/constant click switch plus a remote tape switch port, both independent.
- Switch redundancy. Run both at once so you always have a backup way to activate the light.
- Swiveling housing. Two-piece design rotates to position the pushbutton where you want it.
- System disable. Lock the light out for storage or transport.
- Accepts SureFire tape switches. ST07, SR07, and SR07-D-IT plug in (sold separately).
- Mil-spec build. Aerospace aluminum, Type III hard anodized, O-ring sealed.

FAQ
What makes the DS00 different from the UE tailcap?
The DS00 keeps the rear pushbutton and adds a remote switch port, so you can run both and have redundancy. The UE cap is remote-only, with no pushbutton. Choose the DS00 if you want a backup pushbutton; choose the UE for a dedicated tape-switch-only setup.
Does it come with a tape switch?
No. The pushbutton works on its own, but to use the remote port you'll need a compatible SureFire tape switch (ST07, SR07, or SR07-D-IT), sold separately.
Which Scout Lights does it fit?
Most SureFire Scout Lights, including the M300, M600, M640, and Mini Scout (M340) series. It does not fit the Micro Scout Light Pro.
Will it work on my Dual Fuel light?
Only on CR123 primary batteries. The DS00 does not support the high-output rechargeable (18650) mode on Dual Fuel lights like the M600DF or M640DF; that mode requires SureFire's UEE cap. On standard Scout Lights it works normally.
Can I reposition the pushbutton?
Yes. The two-piece housing swivels, so you can rotate the integrated pushbutton to the position that works best for your setup.
