Description
The SureFire UE tailcap is a replacement rear cap for SureFire Scout Light weapon lights that removes the onboard pushbutton and gives you a remote-switch-only port instead. If you run a tape switch or pressure pad on your rifle, this is the cap that lets you do it. You unscrew the stock pushbutton tailcap, thread this one on in its place, and plug a remote switch into the port. That's the whole job.
The reason people switch to it is control placement. With a tape switch wired to this cap, you put the activation button exactly where your support hand sits on the handguard instead of reaching back to the tailcap every time. It also cleans up the back of the light, since you're committing fully to remote activation rather than running both a pushbutton and a remote. The tradeoff is the obvious one: with the pushbutton gone, the remote switch is your only way to turn the light on, so this cap only makes sense if you're actually running a tape switch.
It requires a compatible SureFire remote switch, which is sold separately. The two standard options are the SR07 (a pad with a raised button) and the ST07 (a flat pad), both of which plug straight into this cap. It's machined from aerospace-grade aluminum, Mil-Spec Type III hard anodized, and O-ring sealed against moisture and grit, so it holds up to the same conditions as the rest of the light.
Read the important compatibility note below before you order if you run a Dual Fuel light. You can also browse our full range of weapon lights and switches.
Important: Dual Fuel Light Compatibility
This is the standard UE cap. It will work on a SureFire Dual Fuel light (like the M600DF or M640DF) only when that light is running CR123 primary batteries. It will not deliver the high-output 18650 rechargeable mode, because the 1,500-lumen Dual Fuel mode requires SureFire's separate UEE cap, which has a different internal spring and chip. If you run a Dual Fuel light on its rechargeable battery and want full output, you need the UEE, not this cap. On standard Scout Lights (M300, M600, M640) this cap works normally.
Build the Setup
This cap is one piece of a remote-switch system. You'll also need a switch: the SureFire SR07 or ST07 plug directly in. To mount the tape switch cleanly on your rail, the Magpul M-LOK Tape Switch Mount holds an ST-style pad in place. If you'd rather keep a pushbutton, the Z68 pushbutton tailcap and the DS00 dual tailcap (pushbutton plus remote port) are the other two options we carry.

FAQ
Does this come with a tape switch?
No. The cap is just the rear cap. You need a compatible SureFire remote switch, either the SR07 or ST07, which plugs into the port. It's sold separately.
Will the light still work without a remote switch installed?
No. This cap removes the pushbutton, so the remote switch is the only way to activate the light. If you want to keep a pushbutton as a backup, look at the DS00 dual tailcap instead, which has both a pushbutton and a remote port.
Which Scout Lights does it fit?
Standard SureFire Scout Light weapon lights, including the M300, M600, and M640 series. It is not for the Micro Scout Light Pro.
Will it work on my Dual Fuel light?
Only on CR123 primary batteries. The standard UE cap does not support the high-output 18650 rechargeable mode on Dual Fuel lights like the M600DF or M640DF. That mode requires SureFire's UEE cap, which is a different part. If you run a Dual Fuel light on its rechargeable battery, get the UEE.
What switch should I get with it?
The SR07 if you want a raised button on the pad, or the ST07 if you want a flat pad. Both plug directly into this cap. A rail mount like the Magpul M-LOK tape switch mount helps keep the pad positioned where you want it.
