Description
The Trijicon MRO SD is the refined version of an optic that already had a strong reputation. It's a compact, fully sealed reflex sight built for rifles, carbines, and shotguns, and its defining trait is the viewing experience: a large objective window paired with a streamlined internal light path that opens up the field of view. In practice that means less tunnel and more of the world around your target, which is exactly what you want when you're moving, scanning, or shooting fast with both eyes open.
The "SD" designation marks the upgrades over the original MRO. Trijicon redesigned the objective lens for better optical clarity, and stiffened the windage and elevation adjusters for tighter zero retention, so the optic holds its zero through drops and hard recoil rather than drifting on you. It's built from forged 7075-T6 aluminum with a hardcoat anodized finish and sealed to 30 meters of water immersion, and it's made in the USA.
One design detail worth calling out: it's a closed-emitter optic. Most micro red dots this size use an open emitter, where the LED sits exposed in a notch and can get blocked by rain, snow, mud, or lint, which kills your dot right when you need it. The MRO's sealed housing puts the emitter behind glass, so the dot stays lit no matter what the weather or your pocket does. For a duty gun, a truck gun, or anything that lives outdoors, that's a real durability advantage.
The 2 MOA dot is precise enough for shot placement at distance and fast to pick up close in. Brightness runs 8 settings, including 2 night-vision-compatible levels and 1 super-bright setting for harsh daylight, controlled by an ambidextrous knob you can work from either side. Adjustments are ½ MOA per click with protected adjusters. Battery life is
