Description
The Holosun DRS-TH is a red dot sight with a thermal imager fused into it. By day, flip the front lens cap down and it's a standard Holosun red dot, the same reliable LED reticle, the same fast sight picture, running for over 50,000 hours on the dot alone. Flip the cap up and a 256×192 thermal sensor takes over, overlaying a live thermal image with your reticle fused on top at 50 frames per second. One optic, one zero, day and night, and no swapping mounts.
Thermal is the reason to buy this over anything else. It doesn't amplify light, it reads heat, which means it works in absolute darkness with zero ambient light, sees through brush and light cover, and cuts through fog and smoke. There's no IR illuminator to buy, no moon to wait for, nothing to give away your position. For hog hunters, predator callers, and anyone whose job is finding a warm target in the dark, that's a fundamentally different capability than any night vision device offers.
Four thermal modes let you tune the image to conditions: White Hot and Black Hot are the classic polarity choices, Outline traces heat signatures against the natural scene, and Highlight picks out the hottest objects in the frame. It records internally with a single button press, so you can capture what you see. Digital zoom offers 1x, 3x, and 5x, and it drives a 1024×768 OLED screen. The reticle is Holosun's Multi-Reticle System, a 2 MOA dot, a 65 MOA circle, or both, with 8 daylight and 4 night vision brightness settings.
Runtime is genuinely strong for a thermal: up to 10 hours on the two included 18350 rechargeable batteries, which is double what the night vision version delivers.
