Description

Holosun 507C X3 Red Dot

The Holosun 507C X3 available at Defense Distributors is the 2026 update to the optic that arguably defined the modern pistol red dot. It carries the feature that made the 507C so popular, Holosun's Multi-Reticle System, and pairs it with the reinforced hardware of the new X3 generation. If you want one pistol optic that can be a precise dot, a fast circle, or both, on the latest, toughest version of the platform, this is the one.

The Multi-Reticle System is what sets the 507C apart from the 407C. With the press of a button you switch between a 2 MOA dot for precise shot placement, a 32 MOA circle for fast close-range acquisition, or the two combined as a circle-dot. That flexibility lets one optic serve a defensive pistol, a range gun, and a competition setup without compromise, you pick the sight picture that fits the moment. If you only ever want a single dot, the 407C X3 below is the simpler, cheaper sibling; the 507C is the one to get for the reticle options.

The X3 generation upgrades the build around that reticle. Holosun moved to a reinforced 7075-T6 aluminum housing, added a 5000G vibration rating and IP67 waterproofing, and switched to a side-loading CR1632 battery tray, so you change the battery without removing the optic and losing your zero, the single most-requested improvement from earlier 507C owners. It also adds Lockout Mode to prevent accidental setting changes during carry or duty use. Solar Failsafe provides backup power and brightness assistance, and runtime runs up to 100,000 hours.

It's built on the RMR footprint, the industry's most widely supported optic cut, so it fits most optics-ready slides directly or with a common adapter plate. Available with a red, green, or gold reticle. Browse the rest of our red dots and optics here.

507C X3 vs 407C X3

The difference is the reticle. The 507C X3 gives you the Multi-Reticle System, a 2 MOA dot, a 32 MOA circle, or both. The 407C X3 gives you a single 2 MOA dot and nothing else. The housing, footprint, battery system, and features are identical between them. Get the 507C if you want the reticle flexibility, the 407C if you want a pure dot for less money.

507C X3 vs 507C X2

Compared to the outgoing 507C X2, the X3 adds the reinforced 7075-T6 housing, the 5000G vibration rating, IP67, the side-loading battery tray, and Lockout Mode. The X2 is the well-proven previous generation and may be priced lower as it sells through. If the side battery access and tougher build matter, go X3; if you want to save and the X2 is available, it remains a great optic.

Protect the Glass

The X3 uses the 507C/407C window, so the CovertArms 507C/407C ARD fits it, a honeycomb anti-reflection device that cuts glare and protects the lens. Our Combat Cards are a useful quick reference for optic setup and zeroing to keep in your bag.

FAQ

What is the Multi-Reticle System?
It lets you select between three reticles with a button press: a 2 MOA dot for precision, a 32 MOA circle for fast acquisition, or both combined. One optic covers precise and fast shooting depending on what you select.

What's new in the X3 compared to the X2?
A reinforced 7075-T6 housing, 5000G vibration resistance, IP67 waterproofing, a side-loading battery tray, and Lockout Mode. The optical package and Multi-Reticle System carry over from the X2.

Can I change the battery without removing the optic?
Yes. The CR1632 loads from a side tray, so you don't have to unmount the optic and re-zero to swap it, the most-requested upgrade from earlier 507C owners.

What slides does it fit?
It uses the RMR footprint, the most widely supported pistol optic cut. It fits RMR-cut optics-ready slides directly, or other slides with the correct adapter plate.

Should I get the 507C or the 407C?
Get the 507C X3 if you want the Multi-Reticle System (dot, circle, or both). Get the 407C X3 if you only want a single 2 MOA dot and want to spend less. They're otherwise the same optic.
