Product Overview
Why the EXTRACT-R Exists
Every range bag has one — a bent paint can opener or makeshift tool used to claw out a stuck case. The EXTRACT-R ends that era. This is a purpose-built AR15 multitool, refined for real-world malfunctions that take rifles out of the fight.
Designed by Black Hills Designs, the EXTRACT-R centers around a custom extractor hook that securely locks onto stuck, ruptured, or separated cases. Whether it’s a torn casing deep in the chamber or a bolt override bending your gas tube, this tool gives you the leverage to fix it fast and keep moving.
And unlike “just-in-case” tools that sit unused, the EXTRACT-R does real work in daily maintenance and range sessions. From scraping carbon to tightening castle nuts, this compact piece of gear earns its place in your kit.
What the EXTRACT-R Does
- Extractor Hook: Locks into mangled or stuck casings for easy removal. A mechanical solution for mechanical failures.
- Castle Nut Spanner: Tighten or check loose castle nuts in the field. Useful for patrol carbines or high-round-count builds.
- Pin Punch Surfaces: Dedicated press points help push stubborn takedown pins or seat bolt catch roll pins.
- 1/4” Hex Driver Slot: Add torque to standard hex bits for tightening optics, accessories, or plates.
- Gas Tube Straightener: Fix bent AR gas tubes — a common failure from bolt override jams.
- Carbon Scrapers: Clean bolt tails, firing pins, and other high-fouling areas. Multiple angles and cutouts built in.
- Wide-Span Flatheads: Two sizes built into the body for optics, mounts, and random field repairs.

FAQs
Q: Will this work on all AR platforms?
Yes. It’s sized for standard AR15-pattern rifles and SBRs, including M4-style carbines.
Q: Does it replace a B.O.A. tool or OTIS B.O.N.E.?
Not directly — those are for cleaning. The EXTRACT-R is more for malfunction correction and physical leverage.
Q: Does it fit in a standard admin pouch or tool roll?
Yes. It’s compact and flat enough to fit in tool rolls, admin panels, and some mag pouches.
Q: Can I use it one-handed?
Yes. The hook geometry is optimized to lock into brass with one hand while retaining the rifle with the other.
