Description
The Holosun AEMS X2 Pro is the loaded version of Holosun's enclosed-emitter rifle red dot. It's built for rifles, carbines, and shotguns, with the wide window and sealed housing that make the AEMS platform so popular, then adds the features that separate the Pro from the simpler Core: a selectable multi-reticle, a solar backup panel, and a smarter automatic brightness system. If you want one enclosed dot that adapts to however you shoot and whatever the light is doing, this is the one to get.
The headline feature is the Multi-Reticle System. With a button press you switch between a 2 MOA dot for precision, a 65 MOA circle for fast close-range acquisition, or the two combined as a circle-dot. That flexibility means the same optic works for slow, deliberate shots and for speed work, you pick the sight picture that fits the moment. The reticle comes in red, green, or gold; green and gold tend to look cleaner to shooters with astigmatism, and gold specifically helps shooters with color blindness.
The other Pro upgrades are about brightness management. A forward-facing light sensor drives a smarter AUTO mode that reads the light in front of the optic and adjusts dot intensity to keep good contrast as conditions change, moving from shade into sun, for example. Backing that up is Holosun's Solar Failsafe: the solar panel both assists brightness in AUTO mode and serves as a backup power source, so if the battery ever dies, the optic still runs in available light. Combined with Shake Awake and the CR2032, you get up to 50,000 hours of runtime. The Pro also ships with an integrated anti-reflective device and flip-down lens covers that the Core doesn't include.
Like the rest of the X2 line, it has the advanced optical system that reduces parallax by up to 50% (the dot stays truer to aim from awkward positions), and it ships with the four-post lower 1/3 co-witness mount at 1.63" that co-witnesses with AR irons and stays backward compatible with original AEMS mounts. The housing is 7075-T6 aluminum, IP67 waterproof, 1000G vibration rated, with a side-loading battery tray. Browse the rest of our red dots and optics here.
Pro vs Core vs Max
The AEMS line steps up by features. The AEMS Core X2 is the simpler, less expensive version, single 2 MOA dot, no solar, no multi-reticle. This X2 Pro adds the Multi-Reticle System, Solar Failsafe, the smart auto-brightness sensor, the anti-reflective device, and flip covers. The Ronin AEMS Max goes to an even larger window for the widest field of view. Get the Pro if you want the reticle options and solar backup; drop to the Core if you just want a clean dot for less.
Protect the Glass
The Pro includes an anti-reflective device, but if you want a dedicated honeycomb killflash for the front lens, the CovertArms AEMS ARD fits the AEMS window and adds glare reduction plus lens protection. Our Combat Cards are a handy quick reference for optic setup and zeroing in your range bag.

FAQ
Is this a pistol or rifle optic?
It's a rifle optic, designed for rifles, carbines, and shotguns, and it ships with a lower 1/3 co-witness rifle mount. It's not a pistol-slide optic.
What's the difference between the Pro and the Core?
The Pro adds the Multi-Reticle System (dot, circle, or circle-dot), Solar Failsafe backup, a smarter auto-brightness sensor, an anti-reflective device, and flip-down lens covers. The Core X2 is a single 2 MOA dot with none of those extras, for less money. Choose the Pro for the features, the Core for simplicity and price.
How does the solar work?
Solar Failsafe uses the panel on top as a backup power source and to assist brightness in AUTO mode. If the battery dies, the optic still runs in available light, and in AUTO mode the reticle intensity adjusts to the light the solar cell reads.
Which reticle color should I choose?
All three are the same reticle set. Green and gold often look cleaner to shooters with astigmatism, and gold helps shooters with color blindness. Red is the familiar standard. Pick whichever your eye reads best.
Does it co-witness with iron sights?
Yes. The included four-post mount is a 1.63" lower 1/3 co-witness height that lines up with standard AR iron sights, and it's backward compatible with original AEMS mounts.
