Description
Reptilia's Low Height DOT Mount is built around a specific problem: getting an Aimpoint ACRO or Steiner MPS to co-witness with backup iron sights on subguns and AKs that run a 1913 Picatinny rail above the gas tube. Standard height mounts put the dot too high in those applications. This one keeps the optic low enough to make BUIS usable.
The body is machined from billet 7075-T6 aluminum and finished in Milspec Type III hardcoat anodize. The clamp and mounting bolt are nitrided 4140 steel. Both the clamp and bolt sit flush with the mount body, which keeps the profile snag-free and the overall length at 3.1 inches. Available in Black and Flat Dark Earth.

What is the tradeoff of a low height mount?
Lower mounting height is the point of this design for subguns and AKs with elevated rails, but that same height may not provide proper cheek weld or sight picture on platforms where a standard or absolute co-witness height is needed. Confirm your rail height and BUIS height before selecting this mount.
