The EOTECH G45 is a 5x flip-to-side magnifier built to run behind an EOTECH holographic weapon sight. The idea is simple and it's one of the most useful setups on a fighting rifle: keep the speed and both-eyes-open simplicity of your holographic sight up close, then flip the G45 into place when you need to reach out and identify or engage a target at distance. When you don't need it, you push it to the side and you're back to an unmagnified 1x sight picture instantly.
What makes the G45 stand out in EOTECH's magnifier line is that it delivers 5x in a body the size of the 3x G33. You get two extra power for distance work without a bigger, heavier optic hanging off your rail. It mounts on its included Switch-to-Side (STS) quick-detach mount to any 1" Weaver or MIL-STD-1913 rail behind your sight, and the locking QD lever lets you pull the whole magnifier off when you want a lighter setup. G45 vs G33 vs G43

The G33 and G43 are both 3x; the G45 is 5x in nearly the same footprint as the G33, so it's the pick if you want more reach for distance work and target ID. The 3x G33 is the long-proven standard if you mostly shoot closer and want the classic EOTECH magnifier. Between the two 3x options, the G33 generally has better eye relief than the shorter-bodied G43. Bottom line: choose the G45 for maximum magnification, the G33 for the proven 3x standard.
