Description

The Sig Romeo4XT PRO is Sig's feature-maxed, MIL-SPEC rifle red dot. It's the optic for the buyer who wants everything in one sight: a selectable four-reticle system, a dedicated night vision override, top-mounted controls, and a 50,000-hour runtime, all in a body tested to military durability standards. It carries the same optical performance and ruggedness as the original Romeo4T and adds the features professionals asked for.

The standout is the quad reticle. Instead of being locked into one sight picture, you select between four: a plain 2 MOA dot, a 2 MOA dot with ballistic holds, a 2 MOA dot with a 65 MOA circle, or a 2 MOA dot with a 65 MOA circle plus holds. The holdovers are calibrated to subtend with 5.56 and 7.62, so you can use them for ranged holds rather than guessing. That flexibility lets one optic cover precise slow fire, fast close-in work, and holdover shooting depending on which reticle you run.

The professional touches are the rest of the story. Illumination control moved to the top of the optic, so you can reach it with either hand and it stays clear of a chest rig or plate carrier when the rifle is slung. There's a dedicated night vision override switch for snapping between drastic lighting changes fast, and 9 daylight plus 3 night vision settings. Power is a single common AAA battery (not a proprietary cell), which combined with Sig's MOTAC motion-activation gives the 50,000-hour runtime, the optic sleeps when still and wakes when you move the rifle.

It's IPX8-rated for waterproof and fog-proof performance and tested to MIL-STD-810 for environmental durability. It ships complete with lens caps and a killflash, so the anti-reflection device most optics make you buy separately is already in the box. It comes in black or FDE. Is the 4XT PRO the Right Sig Dot for You?

This is a premium, do-everything optic, and you're paying for the full feature set. If you want the quad reticle, ballistic holds, NV override, and MIL-SPEC durability, it's hard to beat. If you just want a simple, reliable dot for an AR, the Romeo 5 Gen 2 or Romeo MSR Gen 2 cover that for a lot less. If you want a larger-window enclosed option, the Romeo 8T is the step in that direction.

Add Magnification

To stretch the 4XT PRO past red-dot range, pair it with a flip-to-side magnifier. The Sig Juliet3 3x is the usual choice for a red dot, and the Juliet5 5x reaches farther if you want more power. The ballistic-hold reticles make a magnifier pairing especially useful for ranged shooting.

Mount It Higher

Running night vision or want a heads-up passive-aiming height? The Overbore Systems Night-Height Micro Mount raises the optic to a 2.33" passive-aiming position.

FAQ

What is the quad reticle?
It's four selectable reticles in one optic: a plain 2 MOA dot, a 2 MOA dot with ballistic holds, a 2 MOA dot with a 65 MOA circle, and a 2 MOA dot with a 65 MOA circle plus holds. You pick the sight picture that fits the job, and the holds subtend for 5.56 and 7.62.

What battery does it use?
A single common AAA battery, not a proprietary cell, which makes resupply easy. Combined with MOTAC motion activation, it's rated for 50,000 hours of runtime.

Is it night vision capable?
Yes. It has 3 dedicated night vision brightness settings plus a night vision override switch for quickly snapping between very different lighting conditions.

Does it come with a killflash?
Yes. It ships with lens caps and a killflash (anti-reflection device) included, so you don't need to buy one separately.

How is it different from the Romeo 5?
The Romeo 5 Gen 2 is a simpler, much less expensive dot with a single reticle. The 4XT PRO adds the quad reticle, ballistic holds, NV override, AAA power, and MIL-STD-810 durability. Choose the 4XT PRO if you want the full feature set, the Romeo 5 if you want a straightforward dot for less.

Is it durable enough for hard use?
Yes. It's IPX8 waterproof and fog-proof and tested to MIL-STD-810 environmental standards, and it's backed by Sig's Infinite Guarantee.
