Description
The Overbore Systems Night Height Micro Mount puts a micro red dot at a 2.33" optic centerline, the height that's become the standard for passive aiming under night vision. That extra height is what lets you keep a natural, heads-up shooting position with NVGs, a gas mask, or other face protection on, instead of cramming your face down to the rifle to find the dot. If you run nods or just want a heads-up, comfortable stance, this is the mount that gets your optic where it needs to be.
It's built for modern carbines and compact rifles, and it does the job without adding unnecessary weight or bulk. A dual-bolt clamping system spreads clamping force across a wide surface for a secure, recoil-resistant lockup on any MIL-STD-1913 rail, while the look-through body trims weight and keeps your backup iron sights usable through the mount. It's machined in the USA from 7075-T6 aluminum with a Type III hard-coat anodized finish, so it holds up to hard use and weather.
This mount fits red dots with the Aimpoint Micro (T1/T2) mounting footprint, which is one of the most common optic footprints out there. That includes the Aimpoint T2, the Sig Romeo MSR Gen 2, Sig Romeo5 Gen 2, Holosun ARO, Holosun 403, Vortex Crossfire, and many more. If you're not sure whether your optic uses the Micro footprint, reach out and we'll confirm before you buy. Browse the rest of our optics and mounts here.
Why 2.33"?
2.33" is the optic centerline height that lets you passively aim under night vision without craning your neck or breaking your cheek weld. With NVGs mounted, your head sits higher and farther back, so a standard 1.5" co-witness mount forces an awkward chin-tuck to find the dot. At 2.33" the dot lines up naturally with a heads-up stance, which is why it's become the go-to height for tactical carbines and anyone shooting under nods. It also clears most gas masks and face protection for the same reason.
Other Overbore Mounts We Carry
If the Night Height Micro isn't quite the height or fit you want, we also carry the Overbore Kenu Riser and the Overbore SALT Riser. If you run an Aimpoint Micro footprint optic, the CovertArms Aimpoint Micro ARD protects the lens from glare and damage.

FAQ
Why 2.33" height?
That's the centerline height that lets you passively aim under night vision without craning your neck or dropping your cheek weld. With NVGs your head sits higher and farther back, so a standard co-witness mount forces an awkward chin-tuck; 2.33" lines the dot up with a natural heads-up stance. It's become the standard for tactical carbines and NV use.
Will it work with my optic?
It fits red dots with the Aimpoint Micro (T1/T2) footprint, including the Aimpoint T2, Sig Romeo MSR Gen 2, Sig Romeo5 Gen 2, Holosun ARO, Holosun 403, Vortex Crossfire, and many others. If you're unsure whether your optic uses the Micro footprint, contact us and we'll confirm before you order.
Can I still use my iron sights?
The look-through body is designed to let you see through the mount, so backup irons remain usable. Whether you get a usable sight picture also depends on your iron sight height and setup.
Does it work with a magnifier?
You can run a magnifier, but you'll want a matching-height magnifier mount or riser so the magnifier lines up with the optic at 2.33". Reach out if you need help matching heights.
What screws does it come with?
It includes four M3 optic bolts with Vibra-Stop thread locker and two pre-installed T20 Torx rail screws. If your specific optic needs proprietary screws, use the ones from your optic manufacturer.
