HRF Concepts Rifle Combat Magwell (RCM)

The HRF Concepts Rifle Combat Magwell (RCM) is a flared magwell that bolts onto most forged milspec AR-15 lowers and increases the funnel surface area by about 175%. The purpose is to make reloads more consistent, especially when you can't take your time and look the magazine into the gun. A standard milspec magwell gives you a fairly small opening to hit. The RCM widens and angles that opening so the magazine is guided in instead of having to be lined up precisely, which helps most when you're moving, in an awkward position, or running night vision and can't see the magwell clearly.

It is not a dramatic change to how the rifle works, and if you only ever reload slowly off a bench you may not notice much. Where it earns its place is the reloads that happen fast or in the dark. It also keeps a slim profile, so it adds the funnel without significantly changing the footprint of the lower.

Installation uses two included bolts and the supplied hex key. It does not require any modification to the lower and can be removed later if you want. For 2026, HRF updated the RCM to an injection-molded polymer, which is lighter and more durable than the earlier coated versions.

Magazine Compatibility

The RCM works with standard AR-15 magazines as well as higher-capacity options including Magpul PMAG M3, the Magpul D60 drum, and the SureFire MAG5-60.

Fitment

The RCM is made for forged milspec AR-15 lower receivers and fits most major manufacturers, including Aero Precision, Colt, Geissele, BCM, KAC, Daniel Defense, Palmetto State Armory (including the JAKL), FN, Anderson, SOLGW, and Centurion. We can only confirm fitment on forged milspec lowers. Billet and non-TDP lowers are not guaranteed to fit.

FAQ

Will this fit my AR-15 lower?
It fits most forged milspec AR-15 lowers, including Aero, Colt, Geissele, BCM, KAC, Daniel Defense, PSA (including JAKL), FN, Anderson, SOLGW, and Centurion. Billet lowers and lowers that don't follow the milspec pattern are not guaranteed to fit. If you're unsure about your specific lower, contact us before ordering.

Does it permanently modify my rifle?
No. It attaches with two bolts and can be removed later. Nothing on the lower gets cut or milled.

Does it work with drums and extended mags?
Yes. In addition to standard AR-15 magazines, it works with the Magpul PMAG M3, Magpul D60, and SureFire MAG5-60.

Is it worth it if I mostly shoot at the range?
If your reloads are always slow and deliberate, the benefit is smaller. The RCM matters most for fast reloads, reloads from unusual positions, and reloads in low light or under night vision.
